The Korean Grand Prix's head promoter Yung Cho Chung has been dismissed after a board meeting on Friday.

According to the Yonhap news agency Chung was accused of lax management and has been replaced by Park Won-Hwa, the former South Korean ambassador to Switzerland. The report said that two other senior executives were also fired during the emergency shareholders meeting of Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO).

South Korea's race contract extends for at least six more years, but KAVO launched an investigation after delayed construction work ahead of the inaugural event last October.

KAVO, a joint venture between South Jeolla province and a private company, was not available for comment.
