India will be ready - Ecclestone

Bernie Ecclestone is confident the new Buddh International Circuit will be ready to host the Indian Grand Prix on October 30.
There will be less than two months to go until the race is due to be held by the time that FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting visits the track to finally sanction the circuit. Following the difficulties in Korea last season - when the race was only given the go-ahead two weeks before its scheduled date due to construction delays - Ecclestone has said he is confident there will be no repeat.
"I have no doubt in my mind the circuit is going to be one of the nicest we have and that it's going to be complete on time," Ecclestone said at the unveiling of race sponsor Bharti Airtel. "We are checking everything all the time, on a daily basis. We are very, very happy everything is on time. There are no problems."
Ecclestone also said that a race in India was important to Formula One, but admitted the sport was unlikely to be able to match the popularity of cricket in the country.
"We have to remember India is one of the top five most important countries in the world today. So for us, it's extremely important to be in India as much as any other country in the world.
"Formula One is new to India. We will never catch cricket, I'm quite sure about that, but we have to try our best to do that. I'm sure eventually we will get very close."
