FIA makes minor regulation tweaks ahead of Melbourne

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has passed some minor tweaks to the Formula One regulations a week ahead of the first grand prix of 2012 in Australia.
In an attempt to offer more track time when Friday practice is rain-affected, drivers are now allowed to carry one set of their dry tyre allocation over to Saturday when both FP1 and FP2 are declared wet.
On wet race day use of the DRS is now at the race director's discretion and he can prohibit its use if he feels visibility is too poor. "This has been done as a result of safety concerns over large speed differentials between cars," read the FIA statement.
Finally the statement added: "Changes have been made to the personnel curfew to ensure the rest periods remain constant throughout the season, irrespective of the timing of practice sessions at particular events."
