Barrichello backs Massa's Formula One future
Rubens Barrichello has backed Felipe Massa to have an extended Formula One career despite speculation about his future.
Massa's been in poor form since the start of 2011, with his last podium finish coming at the Korean Grand Prix towards the end of 2010. In what is clearly a crucial season for him, Massa has still struggled with the uncompetitive Ferrari and only scored two points so far this year; compared to 41 points by his team-mate.
With Massa having been present in Sao Paulo for Barrichello's home IndyCar debut rumours surfaced that he could follow his fellow Brazilian in switching series, but Barrichello said that he expects to Massa to "race a lot more in F1".
"He came here because I invited him," Barrichello is quoted by Autosport. "It was a pleasure to receive him. He stayed on the pit wall with the team radio, living a totally different experience compared to F1. And different to what many people think - he was not here looking for a job. This guy will race a lot more in F1.
"To face a problem, you have to smile and be happy with yourself before handling the situation. The important thing is what is inside him, and he seems relaxed. He was happy to be here."
