Vitaly Petrov's future with Caterham is uncertain after talks between the two parties stalled, according to his agent.

While Heikki Kovalainen looks set to be without a drive in 2013, Petrov was the more likely of Caterham's 2012 drivers to retain his seat alongside the incoming Charles Pic as the team looks for both drivers to bring funding. However, Petrov's agent Oksana Kosachenko says negotiations are on hold as the team restructures and that there a number of unresolved issues.

"At the moment there are a lot of unanswered questions," Kosachenko is quoted as saying by R-Sport. "There are too many nuances that need to be sorted out. We're at the waiting stage, which is linked to the team's restructuring. We completely depend on them and can't speed anything up."

Kosachenko also denied that Petrov had been able to attract a number of new sponsors during the winter.

"So far, we haven't managed to find new sponsors. Where do journalists get this information from? I'm a journalist myself and I know very well how this can just pop into someone's head."
