- First Barcelona Test - Day Two
Raikkonen: Ferrari has improved in every area
Kimi Raikkonen says every area of the new Ferrari has been improved, but that fine tuning the SF15-T to his liking will have to wait until the final test next week.
Ferrari has turned heads in the paddock with consistently fast times during testing this year, but it remains to be seen if it can remain ahead of its rivals when it comes to the opening race in Australia. After struggling throughout 2014, Raikkonen has been impressed by the new SF15-T and says it is better in every respect.
"Every area of the car - the engine, the packaging - everything has been improved. We are going in the right direction," he said.
"There are always thing you can improve and that's why we come testing, to try new things and to learn. Hopefully in the last test we'll look into the details of everything we have and put all the right things in the car - or what we think are the right things - and then we can see where we are. But it has been going pretty okay."
Ferrari has stuck to shorter runs than most of its rivals so far in testing, but Raikkonen is confident the team is doing what it needs to do to improve.
"Like I said it's only testing so far and it's too early to say but we're doing our own stuff and we've been pretty happy with how things have gone so far. Obviously there are still things to improve but so far it's not so bad."
