    VfB Stuttgart v TSG Hoffenheim: Preview

    Stuttgart coach Armin Veh has warned his side must beat local rivals Hoffenheim on Saturday if they want to win back some of the self-confidence lost during a difficult start to the season.

    The Swabians have picked up just a single point from their first three games of the season, going down to defeat at Bayern Munich last weekend and leaving them only one option at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena this weekend.

    ``There's nothing other than a win,'' he said. ``Then things will be a lot easier for us.

    For that, Veh hopes the fans will forget the disappointment of their previous home game of the season, which ended in an unexpected defeat to Cologne, and rally behind the players.

    ``We need their support,'' he added at a press conference. ``The team have got to show the fans that they desperately want to win.

    ``We've trained well and we've improved, but now we've got to show that on Saturday.''

    The confidence levels are much higher in the Hoffenheim camp, with Markus Gisdol's men yet to drop a point all season.

    However, he has warned of how that statistic will change in this Baden-Wurttemberg derby if his team are not careful.

    ``We mustn't let their recent results mislead us,'' Gisdol said. ``They are a difficult side to fathom.

    ``They played very well against Gladbach and also against Cologne, and they have great quality in their attacking midfield so we're going to have to watch out.''

    Gisdol has several doubts in addition to the certain loss of Ermin Bicakcic.

    ``Sead Salihovic has a cut on his knee, Adam Szalai has tonsilitis and it's very doubtful that he will be fit in time,'' Gisdol said on his club's website.

    ``Kevin Volland has also only trained twice because of his back problems.''

    VfB Stuttgart 0-2 TSG Hoffenheim

    Stuttgart dropped to the bottom of the Bundesliga on Saturday after losing the Baden-Wurttemberg derby with Hoffenheim 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena.

    Anthony Modeste and Tarik Elyounoussi earned Hoffenheim more than just bragging rights against their nearest geographical rivals, who could barely be any further away from them now in the league standings.

    With no points and no goals from four games this season, Armin Veh has a lot of work to do for Stuttgart, whose next opponents are Borussia Dortmund.

    When things are not going your way then luck tends to be elusive and that was the case again for Stuttgart.

    After a bright opening, their former player Sebastian Rudy sent in a free-kick from the right which was headed in from six yards out by Modeste.

    It proved to be Hoffenheim's one and only chance of the first half with Stuttgart dominating proceedings, but failing to find their reward.

    Daniel Didavi was at the heart of most of the action, showing some of his most consistently good form in two years ravaged by injury.

    He skipped past four Hoffenheim players on his way to setting up Florian Klein for a shot the Austrian should have done more with in the 29th minute.

    Klein's cross was headed over by Moritz Leitner with Didavi also heading over just before the interval.

    It seemed like Stuttgart could get nothing right at all, and that first goal of the season showed no sign of arriving.

    Hoffenheim, on the other hand, proved that they could score effectively at will, netting their second big chance of the match six minutes from time to steal the points.

    Kevin Volland sent Elyounoussi through and, although Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich got the upper hand in their first duel, the Norwegian came out on top of the second to seal victory.
