Brazil v Japan: Preview
Brazil coach Dunga has warned failure to beat Japan on Tuesday would undermine their good work since the World Cup.
The 1994 World Cup-winning captain returned for a second spell as coach after this summer's home tournament under Luiz Felipe Scolari, which ended in ignominy with a 7-1 semi-final defeat to eventual champions Germany and a 3-0 loss to Holland in the third-place play-off.
Since then they have won three matches in succession, most recently beating rivals Argentina 2-0 in Beijing on Saturday.
But Dunga warned that will count for nothing should they slip up in Singapore.
b*He told reporters: ``The Selecao has to work beyond football quality and results.
``If we lose focus in the Japan game, all we've been doing so far will be lost and criticism will come up. They will say the national team is not the one it used to be any more.''b,
b*Forward Diego Tardelli, who scored both goals in the Argentina clash, is hoping to continue his goalscoring trend.
He said: ``I want to profit from every minute in the national team, both on and off the field.
b*``I want to play the next World Cup and it starts right now. Each match is very important to me.''b,
Japan are also working under a new coach, Javier Aguirre having succeeded Alberto Zaccheroni after the World Cup.
And the new man presided over his first win when Jamaica were dispatched 1-0 on Friday, following defeat to Uruguay and a goalless draw with Venezuela.b,
b*Defender Yuto Nagatomo, of Inter Milan, said of Aguirre: ``I think his strategy and coaching methods are good; although he is strict, he is a very approachable person.
b*``His training is short and very intensive and the speed of his sessions, I think, benefits us.
b*``It will be a difficult match against Brazil, but we will work hard to get a result. This is a new team under a new coach and it is a new start for us.''
b*Goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima added: ``We are still rebuilding our team and we are on the way to becoming stronger.
b*``Brazil are one of the strongest teams in the world and it will be a good experience for us. We must make full use of it.''b,

Brazil 4-0 Japan
Neymar scored all four goals as Brazil thrashed Japan 4-0 in an international friendly in Singapore.
The Barcelona star opened the scoring in the 17th minute and then added three more in the second half to complete a one-sided triumph and earn new Brazil boss Dunga a fourth successive win since he replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari after the World Cup.
As well as moving onto 40 goals from 58 appearances for his country, Neymar was also celebrating a 'perfect' hat-trick, with his goals coming from his right foot (two), left foot and head.
The 22-year-old might even have recorded an even bigger personal haul at Singapore's National Stadium but he saw his early free-kick smash against the crossbar when the game was still goalless.
It did not take the former Santos player much longer to open the scoring, though, Diego Tardelli threading a ball through which Neymar latched onto before rounding Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima and slotting into the roof of the net.
A similar move saw Neymar add a second in the 48th minute as he got in behind a high Japan backline to pick up Philippe Coutinho's perfectly-timed pass and then fire past Kawashima.
Neymar almost turned provider in the 77th minute with a cross that Kaka headed against the bar, but Japan failed to clear the danger and, after Coutinho had picked the ball up and drilled in a shot that Kawashima parried, Neymar was in the right place to side-foot into the gaping net.
That completed Neymar's third hat-trick for his country, but it was not the end of his contribution as he added a fourth three minutes later when he headed home Robinho's dinked cross from the left.
Man of the match Neymar said: ``I am so happy that I could achieve this dream. Not in my best national squad dreams did I think of this, I have no words but to thank God.''
He added: ``Dunga always says that the best way to respect a rival is to do everything to beat them. And we did everything, not only score goals.
``I don't know what my limit is. I only want to help my team-mates in the Selecao, that's the most important thing.''
