Aquilani wanted to stay in Italy - agent

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani wanted to remain in Italy, according to his agent.
Aquilani joined Liverpool from Roma in 2009 for a fee in the region of £20 million, despite his CV indicating the player was injury prone.
And he struggled for regular football and form at Anfield, the Italy international having made just nine Premier League appearances to date.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Juventus where he impressed, but no permanent deal was agreed and he is now expected to be a Reds player for the forthcoming campaign.
"Alberto's thoughts were to stay in Italy, but this was not possible," Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia said to Radio Sportiva. "He had a positive season (at Juventus).
"I don't know if in this market there will be the possibility for him to return to Italy and it's a shame that our players are forced to go and play away from Italy."
However, he added: "Liverpool are an important club and they have overcome the problems they had a year ago with the previous owners so they can win the Premier League."
