Aaron Ramsey has admitted the time has come for him to seize his chance and become a regular starter for Arsenal.

The Wales international has battled back from a serious leg injury suffered in February 2010 to force his way back into the plans of Arsene Wenger.

With doubts surrounding the futures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal, there could well be a chance for Ramsey to stake a claim for a first-team spot and he is determined to take his chance.

"Absolutely, that is what I want to do," the midfielder told Arsenal's official website. "It's an opportunity for me now and one that I'm looking forward to.

"I'm going to give it everything to start the season and hopefully stay in the team. I want to be a starter so, if given the opportunity, I will give my best to keep the shirt.

"At the end of last season I was just getting back into the swing of things, I put in a couple of good performances so hopefully now I can have a good pre-season and produce those types of performances week-in, week-out."
