Carroll fit and firing for Liverpool

Andy Carroll is looking to hit the ground running at the start of the season, having suffered a frustrating time at Liverpool on account of injury.
Carroll joined Liverpool in a £35 million deal from Newcastle in January, but he made only minimal impact on account of injury. He was troubled by a groin problem when making the move to Anfield and the club's medical team did not take any risks with his fitness.
The England international is looking to reap the benefits of the medical team's decision and will get the chance to impress during the Reds' pre-season tour. And he hopes a positive showing will tee him up for the new campaign.
"It was disappointing being injured," Carroll said. "But I have got back fit and am now looking forward to the start of the season.
"I am just hoping to stay fit and score goals, help the team score goals and win games."
