Adam shines on debut in Liverpool win

Liverpool 4-3 Guandong Sunray Cave Highlights

Charlie Adam came off the bench to make his Liverpool debut as the Reds opened their pre-season tour of China with a 4-3 win over Guangdong Sunray Cave.

Goals from Christian Poulsen and David Ngog midway through the first half put Kenny Dalglish's side on top before Guangdong came back into the match when Ricardo Steer headed home in first-half injury time.

Dalglish rang the changes at half-time, with new acquisition Adam entering the fray as well as Andy Carroll, Dirk Kuyt and Alberto Aquilani. Former Blackpool talisman Adam impressed with the way he spread the ball around and Conor Coady put Liverpool seemingly out of sight.

Carroll made it four with a deflected finish but Guangdong refused to lie down and were rewarded for their persistence with two late consolation strikes, from Lu Lin and Yin Hongbo.
