Under-fire FIFA president Sepp Blatter has pipped tabloid targets Ashley Cole and Ryan Giggs to be voted the biggest "celebrity villain" of the past decade.

Blatter, who has seen world football's governing body embroiled in corruption allegations in recent months, took 9.2 per cent of the vote, ahead of former RBS boss Sir Fred Goodwin (8.2%), with Cole third and Giggs seventh.

The poll, commissioned by SyFy to coincide with the launch of superhero series The Cape, asked around 2,000 people to name their choices of heroes and villains.

David Beckham was runner-up in the heroes category, behind USA president Barack Obama.
