Manchester City maintained their 100 per cent start to pre-season with a 2-1 win over Vancouver, but the victory came at a cost as Yaya Toure limped off with an injury.

The powerhouse midfielder crumpled to the floor after landing awkwardly and received lengthy treatment on the pitch.

Toure was able to stand and hobbled off the field, but only with the aid of two members of the club's staff and with the start of the Premier League season looming large on the horizon it is a worry for the City.

"We will have to see but I hope he will have recovered in three or four days,'' City manager Roberto Mancini said. "He fell over the other player's foot and hurt his ankle, but hopefully he will be OK."

The game was only given the green light a couple of hours before kick-off due to the heavy rain that had hit the Vancouver area. The pitch was heavy and City fell behind when Camilo Sanvezzo's shot deflected in off Stefan Savic.

John Guidetti drew City level, but it was Shaun Wright-Phillips - who has impressed so far this summer - who stole the show with a 25-yard stunner five minutes from time.
