Despite recent reports that Alberto Aquilani would be staying at Liverpool this season, the Italian midfielder's agent has claimed that a deal is in place to take him to Fiorentina and only hinges on personal terms being agreed.

Aquilani was brought to the club for £17 million from Roma on a five-year deal in 2009 but, after a season on loan with Juventus, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield and is widely expected to join La Viola.

The Italian club are believed to be ready to take him on a permanent deal, although the possibility of a season-long loan still exists, and agent Franco Zavaglia says it is now just a case of agreeing terms with the player.

''The agreement between Fiorentina and Alberto has not yet been reached,'' Zavaglia told La Gazzetta dello Sport. ''If we talk of an agreement, that was only reached between the two clubs, because Fiorentina did not come to any decision with us [over wages].''

The midfielder has made just 28 appearances for the club since his arrival in England and reports have suggested that he wants a €1.5 million 'golden handshake' from Liverpool to compensate him for his drop in salary.
