Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed he is planning to offer forward Hugo Rodallega a new deal.

Rodallega, 26, has just one year remaining on his contract and said earlier this month that he had attracted interest from Arsenal, Villarreal, Sevilla and Everton.

However, with Wigan having agreed to sell winger Charles N'Zogbia to Aston Villa for £9.5 million, Whelan insists he and manager Roberto Martinez are determined to retain Rodallega.

"We'll be talking to Hugo when he gets back from the Copa America, and as far as I know he's happy here," Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post. "We'd like him to stay.

"We've not had an offer in for Hugo, and I would imagine Roberto will be keen to get something sorted on that one. We do not want to be selling him, though - absolutely not."

The Evening Post also believes midfielder James McCarthy is in line for an extension on his deal.
