Beckham defends his Galaxy career

David Beckham has launched an impassioned defence of his spell with Los Angeles Galaxy, insisting he has no regrets about joining the club.
The 36-year-old caused a stir when he moved to the Major League Soccer side in 2007, following three successful years with Real Madrid. At the time it was suggested that joining the Galaxy would sound the death knell for his international career, but Beckham forced his way back into the England fold and was only denied a spot at the 2010 World Cup by injury.
Now, with his contract up at the end of the season, Beckham is adamant that he would not think twice about extending his stay Stateside, as he forecasts another two years of football before retirement.
"I have no regrets," he told Sky Sports News. "Not one about wherever I have played and whatever I have done, I don't think you can live your life like that. I always have to be sure about the decisions I have made. People may think it was the wrong decision for me to move over to America but I am fully confident with the decision I made.
"I was successful in Europe for many years; won many trophies with Manchester United and played at two of the biggest clubs in the world. I was successful at Real Madrid and I needed a new challenge - and I have enjoyed that challenge."
Beckham came close to joining Tottenham on loan in January, but the deal failed to materialise - and he says a switch to another Premier League club is unlikely.
"I have always said that Manchester United is my one love and to play for another Premiership team would be difficult for me," he said. "We are very happy in America as a family and we have been for the last five years, we love England and we miss it of course but as for myself playing back there? I don't know.
"Things change so quickly and right now I am playing for Galaxy. I will look at myself at the end of the season, see how my body feel sand if I feel good I will continue to play."
