Milan Jovanovic's unhappy spell at Liverpool is at an end after he completed a move to Belgian giants Anderlecht.

The Serbian joined Reds in summer 2010 but, despite a promising start, failed to establish himself in the first-team and found himself on the fringes following Kenny Dalglish's appointment as manager.

Liverpool were eager to get him off the wage bill, with some reports suggesting he was pocketing as much as £100,000-per-week during his spell at Anfield.

His chances of a first-team berth looked even more remote following the arrivals of Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam.

"Milan Jovanovic has today completed his move from Liverpool to Anderlecht," a statement on Liverpool's official Twitter page read.
