Aquilani claims Milan move imminent

Alberto Aquilani's unhappy stay at Liverpool looks to be drawing to a conclusion, with the Italy international midfielder confirming he is on the verge of joining AC Milan.
After an injury-blighted first season at Anfield following a £17 million move from Roma, Aquilani spent the entirety of the last campaign on loan at Juventus, who decided not to make the deal permanent this summer.
A rumoured move to Fiorentina subsequently failed to materialise, leaving Aquilani staring at the prospect of returning to Liverpool, where he is apparently not in boss Kenny Dalglish's plans, especially after the summer arrivals of central midfielders Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam.
However, it now seems that AC Milan, who have previously confirmed an interest in him, are set to offer Aquilani an escape route.
"I am close to joining Milan," Aquilani told Gazzetta dello Sport.
