Kyrgiakos leaves Liverpool

Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg have completed the capture of defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos from Liverpool.
The Greek defender found himself surplus to requirements at Anfield, with Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel ahead of him in the pecking order, and he opted for a move to Germany on a two-year deal.
Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath is confident Kyrgiakos will add strength to his side's defensive line.
"Kyrgiakos is a player, who will strengthen us immediately," Magath said. "He is experienced, knows the league and will not need any time to acclimatise."
The defender made 49 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals.
