Arsenal given Cahill hope as Bolton sign Boyata

Bolton Wanderers have stepped in to sign Dedryck Boyata on a season-long loan from Manchester City, news that will not be lost on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who is pursuing Gary Cahill.
The Trotters rejected a bid they described as not in the correct ball park from Arsenal for Cahill. Bolton are aware that an improved bid may be tabled and have seemingly moved to shore up their backline should the England man depart by bringing in 20-year-old defender Boyata.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle claims he has beaten off stiff competition from other clubs to scure the signature of Boyata.
"I am delighted that we have completed the loan deal for Dedryck because there was interest from a number of other clubs in taking him on loan," Coyle told the club's official website. "To bring in a player of Dedryck's age and quality is something, as we have shown before, that we like to do.
"He is a tremendous addition to the squad and his versatility means that he can operate at centre half and full back. He has got pace and power and is a flexible and dynamic player."
Boyata said: "I'm really looking forward to working with the manager. I have seen how he got the best out of young players like Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge.
"I am only 20-years-old and I'm still learning and trying to improve. To come to Bolton Wanderers for a loan period is a great opportunity to do that."
