Fergie reveals Welbeck blow
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted Danny Welbeck is likely to be sidelined for six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the 8-2 romp over Arsenal.
Welbeck has made a fine start to the season, justifying Ferguson's decision to included the forward in his first-team plans. He has forged an excellent understanding with Wayne Rooney, but his progress has been halted by an injury that forced him to limp from the field of play.
Scans have revealed a tear to his left hamstring which will in all probability sideline him for six weeks.
"It's unfortunate for the boy and it looks like being between five and six weeks before he is fit again," Ferguson said. "With the form Danny is showing now, he is a big loss to us.
"He complained about feeling his hamstring tighten but unfortunately we couldn't get [Javier] Hernandez on quickly enough.
"It's unfortunate for England too because he is going to miss their games."
