Arsenal defender Armand Traore has signed a three-year contract with Queens Park Rangers, the Loftus Road club have confirmed.

Traore has made just one Premier League appearance for the Gunners in the last 15 months - the 8-2 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday - and was deemed to be surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium despite the club's lack of defensive cover.

The left-back, who joined Arsenal from Monaco in 2005, was behind Kieran Gibbs in the Gunners' pecking order and spent time on loan at Juventus and Portsmouth over the last three seasons.

Since his takeover of the Loftus Road club, Tony Fernandes has bankrolled the signings of Joey Barton and Luke Young, while Shaun Wright-Phillips could also join from Manchester City before Wednesday night's transfer deadline.
