Craig Bellamy will undergo a medical at Liverpool ahead of a move from Manchester City, according to widespread reports.

The 32-year-old has been given permission to leave Wales' training camp at Celtic Manor in order to travel to Liverpool, where he spent 12 months between 2006 and 2007, scoring nine goals in 42 matches.

Bellamy has been frozen out at City under boss Roberto Mancini, not travelling with the rest of the squad to the pre-season tours and being forced to train with the youth-team players.

He has claimed that he is willing to see out the remaining 12 months of his contract at City, even if it means not being involved with the first-team, putting Kenny Dalglish's side under pressure to secure a lucrative financial package.

Bellamy's arrival could clear the way for David Ngog to join Bolton Wanderers in a £4 million deal.
