Ashley Young is still looking over his shoulder at Manchester United, despite making such an impressive start to life with the Red Devils.

England international Young joined United for £15 million from Aston Villa this summer, and has adjusted to life at Old Trafford rapidly.

He has contributed two Premier League goals - both in the 8-2 mauling of Arsenal - and four assists, inspiring United to a 100% start to the season.

But with the likes of Ryan Giggs, Park Ji-Sung and Antonio Valencia breathing down his neck, Young knows that he faces a battle to remain in the champions' starting XI.

"The atmosphere round the place is terrific, I feel like I've been welcomed with open arms," Young told ESPN. "I've fitted into the squad straight away, and it's easy to fit in here.

"Everyone's got that winning mentality and they're fighting for places - you're always kept on your toes."
