Former AC Milan coach Leonardo would be open to linking up with David Beckham again at Paris St Germain.

Leonardo, now sporting director at the Parc des Princes, worked with Beckham, 36, when he was loaned from the Los Angeles Galaxy to the San Siro club. With the midfielder in the final year of his Major League Soccer contract, speculation is rife as to what his next move will be, with recent speculation linking him with QPR and Tottenham.

Leonardo told BBC Sport: "The door is open. He is more than a football player - he's a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him. He respects the rules, listens to you and wants the best for the team. That's why for me he is a big example. I worked with him and that's why I talk about his name.''

PSG are the financial powerhouses of French football having been taken over by the Qatar Sports Investments this summer. It means the club would certainly have the means to bring Beckham to Paris, while Leonardo's history with the player could also be a factor.

"I coached him at AC Milan and we created a good relationship,'' the Brazilian said. "He is more than a football player, but when you see him every day he trains and plays like a kid. He is someone that I really appreciate and admire so much - his values and everything he has done in football.''
