Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has labelled Stoke's Peter Crouch a persistent fouler after the striker netted in a 1-1 draw between the clubs at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

United took a first-half lead through Nani, before Crouch equalised in the second half to bring an end to the visitors' 100% start to the Premier League season.

Now Ferguson has criticised Crouch, who darted between Rio Ferdinand and Phil Jones to nod home, for his physical approach to competing aerially.

"He fouls all the time," Ferguson said. "He gets off with it because of his height, but he jumps on top of defenders all the time. He has been doing that for a long time. Referees know that. Even with the goal he has maybe caught Phil Jones. He's a handful in the air, no doubt about that."

Crouch's strike was his first in the league for Stoke since joining the club in August from Tottenham Hotspur.
