Nani fires warning to City

Nani believes Manchester United can go into every home game expecting to win as they prepare for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.

City will make the trip in top form, winning seven of their eight Premier League fixtures. Their only dropped points came at Fulham, when they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2. But Nani insists there is no reason for United to fear anyone on their turf.

"City have a fantastic team at the moment with fantastic players,'' said the Portugal winger. "They are playing a lot of good stuff and it will be difficult to play against them.

"But we should not forget; we are United. When we play at home it is very hard to beat us. That is why we are so confident.

"With a record like ours, we should be confident every time we play at home. We have to believe we are going to win most of the games.

"City are one of the teams who have been doing fantastically well since the season started. But there are a lot of teams who are doing well and we need to be aware of them. Chelsea have been excellent for a start.

"I just feel it is too early to say it is just going to be about Manchester United and Manchester City for the title.

"These are the games that always get the team motivated. When we play these games the team has a different attitude and a different hunger. Everyone likes to play in matches like this one and clearly, we hope to win as well.''

United have won 19 consecutive home games in the Premier League, with the win against Norwich breaking a century-old club record.

The most consecutive home wins in English football history belongs to Bradford Park Avenue who won 25 games in a row between 1926-27. To match that United would need to beat City, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Wolves, Wigan Athletic and finally Blackburn on New Year's Eve.
