Zidane backs PSG's Beckham pursuit

French legend Zinedine Zidane is supporting Paris St Germain's quest to sign David Beckham on a free transfer in November.
Beckham, 36, will soon be out of contract with present club LA Galaxy and, if he opts to leave America, big-spending PSG are ready to pounce.
And Zidane, who played with Beckham at Real Madrid between 2003 and 2006, backs the Paris club's pursuit - although he harbours some reservations due to Beckham's age.
"It could be good," the Frenchman told RTL. "Of course, the concern over his age is always there, but he is a great professional who gives everything for his team and always fights. That is important, the main thing. We will have to see if he maintains that necessary capacity, but if both sides are keen, then why should he not sign for PSG?"
Zidane retired from the game after the 2006 World Cup final between France and Italy, in which he was infamously sent off for a headbutt.
