Wenger hits back at criticism of Arshavin

Arsene Wenger has hit out at criticism of Andrei Arshavin, with the Arsenal boss confident the Russian will deliver this season.
Arshavin joined the Gunners amid major fanfare in 2008, but more often than not he has flattered to deceive.
The Arsenal faithful have grown frustrated with Arshavin and former Gunners boss George Graham described the Russian as a "bad buy", while the player himself has suggested he has not done enough.
But Wenger has defended his £15 million capture. "You would not be surprised that I disagree with that," the Frenchman said in response to Graham's comments. "It is opinion and I think he has been great for us and will be great in the coming months.
"He is a great player and you have to give him credit for that. I personally respect him highly and think he's a great player."
