Galaxy retain Beckham hope

LA Galaxy have not given up hope of keeping David Beckham, with the club claiming it is "50-50" that he will sign a new deal.
Beckham joined the Galaxy on a mega deal in 2007 and has done much to breathe life into MLS. Other major stars such as Thierry Henry play in America and the game is booming.
But Beckham's deal is winding down and he is being tipped to return to England - with Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers holding an interest.
However, Galaxy coach Bruce Arena claims they are hopeful of putting together a package to persuade the former England star to stay on.
"David likes LA, he knows where he is at this point in his career and I think the chances are 50-50," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "Once the season is over we'll both be in a position to try to extend the relationship."
Beckham's focus is on the MLS play-offs and he has made it clear he will not discuss his future until the end of the post season.
