Chelsea captain John Terry is waiting to find out if Anton Ferdinand will report him to the FA over an alleged racist slur during QPR's 1-0 victory at Loftus Road at the weekend.

Ferdinand will meet with QPR manager Neil Warnock on Tuesday to discuss reports he was abused and will decide whether he wants the incident to be investigated.

Videos circulated on the internet in the aftermath of Sunday's Premier League match, with some claiming the footage shows Terry insulting the QPR defender using racist language.

However, Terry has categorically denied making such comments during the west London derby defeat and has vowed to clear his name of any wrongdoing.

"I'll do whatever it takes to clear my name and I don't have anything to hide. I'm not taking that level of abuse," Terry told the Daily Mail.

"Anton and I spoke for ten minutes in the dressing room after the game and there is no issue between us. It's finished."

The incident occurred as Chelsea completely lost their discipline as two sending offs, seven yellow cards and a penalty handed QPR a first win over their arch-rivals for 16 years.

Scotland Yard have confirmed that police are also "assessing" the allegations after receiving a complaint from a member of the public.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that police have been notified of an incident on Sunday 23 October involving alleged racial abuse. This is currently being assessed by officers from Hammersmith and Fulham."
