Brazilian side Corinthians have warned Manchester City they will not pay a "crazy" fee for unsettled striker Carlos Tevez.

Tevez's former club Corinthians failed in a bid to land the Argentina international in the summer, but could renew their interest when the winter transfer window opens.

The forward's future at the Etihad Stadium is the subject of conjecture after he was accused of refusing to warm-up during City's 2-0 Champions League loss at Bayern Munich.

It is expected he will be sold in January, and Corinthians have been mentioned as potential suitors. But the Brazilian club are wary of the Argentine disrupting the spirit in their dressing room.

The club's marketing vice-president, Luis Rosemberg, is quoted by TalkSPORT as saying: "I do not know if the trainer wants Tevez and what he thinks about the semi-crazy behaviour that he has shown.

"I do not know if the coach wants to disturb the harmony that we have got. If it was for a reasonable fee than yes, we would do it. But we cannot pay a crazy figure to sign him.

"The names do not matter [to the coach], he wants men."
