Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has insisted team-mate Luis Suarez has been unaffected by the racism row that he has become embroiled in.

The Football Association is investigating a complaint, denied by Suarez, that Manchester United defender Patrice Evra was racially abused by the Uruguayan during the Premier League game at Anfield in October.

Suarez was ineffective in the game following the row, as Liverpool drew with Norwich, but in the next two matches he producing starring displays. He scored twice as the Reds beat Stoke in the Carling Cup and then created two goals in the win over West Brom.

Adam feels Suarez's performances have gone a long way to proving that his on-field displays have not been affected by the controversy.

"Whatever's gone on in the past, Luis is happy," Adam told the Daily Mirror. "Thing is, when he's on the pitch is when he's at his best. He does a terrific job for the team.

"Luis scored two terrific goals last week and set up two on Saturday, winning the penalty and playing a great ball for Andy's goal."
