David Beckham has not given up hope of playing for his country again, with the former England captain confident he will earn a recall.

Beckham has 115 caps to his name, but at 36 years of age many feel his days with the national side are long gone - with his last appearance being against Belarus in October 2009.

The former Manchester United man is not looking to retire when his contract with LA Galaxy winds down in November and he is targeting an England recall.

"I'm playing well, I'm still fit and I haven't retired from international football," he said. "If there are players injured or out, if I'm ever needed, then of course I'm available.

"I'd love to play for England again and I believe I will."
