Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm believes Liverpool will struggle to have a successful season because they rely too much on forward Luis Suarez.

Vorm, something of a revelation since joining the Premier League newboys from Dutch side Utrecht in the summer, was instrumental in helping his new side to a 0-0 draw at Anfield on Saturday, in a game that saw both sides squander a number of good opportunities.

Liverpool now sit sixth in the table, but Vorm believes Kenny Dalglish's side might find it difficult to progress further because they are too reliant on their livewire Uruguayan forward.

The 28-year-old revealed that a key part of Swansea's gameplan for Saturday was to keep the former Ajax player quiet, and by managing to do that they were able to take a point from the game.

"Maybe they rely too much on Suarez," Vorm said, according to The Sun. "He is a player with incredible qualities, world class, and I've played a lot of times against him in Holland.

"He is a player who can make a difference. But against us he didn't, and they didn't score. Maybe because we kept him quiet they didn't have other options. We did our homework and worked hard to deny him the chances."

Vorm revealed he enjoyed a few light-hearted exchanges with both Suarez and Dirk Kuyt during the game, and was happy to come out on top - although only after Kuyt's late headed goal was disallowed for offside.

"Suarez has scored a few goals against me, so it is funny to see him again. I was telling him I was going to stop him," he said. "And when Kuyt put the ball in the net, the first thing I always do is look at the ref, and he was indicating it was offside.

"Then I saw it was Kuyt and I was happy because I knew I would meet up with him on the Monday with the national team."
