Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge will make his England debut against Sweden on Tuesday, but defender Phil Jagielka has returned to Everton and will play no part.

Manager Fabio Capello, who praised the performance of England's youngsters following an unexpected 1-0 win over world champions Spain on Saturday, confirmed Sturridge would be part of another batch of new faces he would unleash ahead of Euro 2012.

Debutants Jack Rodwell and Kyle Walker both impressed at Wembley, along with Manchester United's Phil Jones, who made his second England appearance, and now it's Sturridge's turn to press his claims for a place at next summer's Finals in Poland and Ukraine.

"I need to know the value of the players when they play at Wembley. There is big pressure for all the players here,'' said the England coach.

Everton centre-back Jagielka was one of the players who really stood out against Spain, alongside central defensive partner Joleon Lescott, but has returned to his club due to a pre-arranged agreement.

It means the 29-year-old can rest the toe injury that has been plaguing him for some time ahead of his side's Premier League encounter with Wolves at Goodison Park on Saturday.

As Gabriel Agbonlahor left the squad after suffering a hamstring injury in training on Thursday, it means the remaining 23 players in Fabio Capello's squad are all expected to train at Arsenal's London Colney complex on Monday morning ahead of Tuesday's friendly with fellow Euro 2012 qualifiers Sweden.

Capello has confirmed Sturridge will make his debut, with recalls for Bobby Zamora and Gary Cahill.

More notably, John Terry will assume the captain's armband for the first time since allegations that he racially abused QPR's Anton Ferdinand - which he strenuously denies - were aired last month.
