Wenger drops Arsenal quit hint

Arsene Wenger has hinted that this season could be his final campaign at Arsenal.

The Frenchman, who has been at Arsenal for 15 years, has had a tough start to the current season - having seen star names Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas depart - with the Gunners seemingly falling off the coattails of Manchester United and Manchester City.

Wenger has two years to run on his contract but has claimed he will consider his future at the end of this season.

"I will consider it at the end of the season," Wenger told L'Equipe. "I have two years left on my contract. But with me or someone else, it makes no difference. Who comes after me must have the basics to achieve success."

Arsenal have hit form in recent weeks and Wenger has admitted his squad is in a period of transition.

"We'll see in December where we can finish," Wenger, who has won three Premier League titles but none since 2004, said. "It was necessary to reconstruct the squad in a climate where we were lacking confidence. It takes time."

Wenger has been linked with the England job and that position will be vacant when Fabio Capello steps down next year.
