Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has not heard anything from Lille about discussing a permanent deal for on-loan midfielder Joe Cole.

In the aftermath of the French champions' 2-0 victory over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday, Lille president Michel Seydoux revealed that the club would like to sign the 30-year-old former England international on a permanent basis at the conclusion of his current loan deal - with Cole also saying he would like to stay at the Ligue 1 club and build a "legacy".

However, Dalglish has yet to hear anything from Seydoux or anyone else involved with the club.

"He has never spoken to me. I don't know anything about it," Dalglish said. "I know they won 2-0 and the lad hit the post and is playing well - but he's been playing well most of the time.

"It is great for Joe he is doing so well but beyond that I don't know of anything that has happened."
