Suarez embroiled in rude gesture controversy

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has become involved in yet another heated altercation, with the Uruguayan alleged to have made a rude gesture toward Fulham fans.

Suarez was in the thick of the action during the Premier League encounter at Craven Cottage on Monday, having a goal ruled out for offside as well as claims for a penalty turned down. But just two months after being involved in a race row with Manchester United's Patrice Evra, it is Suarez's alleged use of the middle finger when leaving the pitch that could see him in further hot water.

Following the 1-0 loss to Fulham, Reds' manager Kenny Dalglish refused to be drawn on the striker's latest brush with controversy, saying: "I've not seen the picture and I am not taking anybody's word for it.

"If you show me the picture and I am convinced what you are saying is true, then I've got a decision to make. But until you have proved it is true to me, I won't comment."

Asked for his thoughts of 'cheat' chants directed at Suarez throughout the match, Dalglish said: "Scandalous. I would like to see you write that in the paper because you would be in a bit of trouble as well. You write what you want to write.

"At the end of the day, we will look after Luis the best we can and I think it is about time he got a wee bit of protection from some people."
