Blow for United as Vidic suffers knee injury

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.
Vidic was stretchered off after landing awkwardly in a challenge with goalscorer Marco Streller during United's 2-1 defeat in Basel.
With United failing to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League, Sir Alex Ferguson's woe was compounded with a nasty-looking injury to his skipper. Ferguson now faces a nervous wait to learn the extent of the injury, with Vidic suspected to have suffered ligament damage.
"We don't know with Vidic, we think it's certainly a medial ligament [injury]," Ferguson said. "Hopefully, that is the worst of it."
