Woodgate's 19-minute nightmare

Kean in?
The Blackburn fans don't appear to be particularly fond of boss Steve Kean - but they did offer him an early Christmas present: no organised protest during the game against West Brom. The Scot must have wondered if he'd arrived at the right ground when he looked at the stands and didn't see a rash of banners demanding his dismissal. The supporters made up for it by raining down anger from the stands on the final whistle after Rovers lost 2-1.
Russell's brand of defending
Norwich defender Russell Martin has carved a niche for himself as the league's only clearing-off-the-line specialist. He did it several times against Arsenal a few weeks ago, and was at it again in the early minutes at Everton, preventing a certain goal by heading away Leon Osman's goalbound effort.
Wood you credit it
Stoke defender Jonathan Woodgate had what is probably the worst game of his career against Wolves. Booked early on, he then proceeded to haul down Matt Jarvis in the area and concede a penalty, which Stephen Hunt converted. He was lucky not to be dismissed - and then, on 16 minutes, was taken off by manager Tony Pulis. Credit to him for not putting on an exaggerated limp as he made his way towards the bench.
Bryanstorm
Sky Sports stalwart Chris Kamara added to his bulging archive of strange remarks when he repeatedly referred to Bryan Ruiz as "Bryan". Great to see them on first-name terms, but it's going to get confusing if he lets this new habit become a regular thing.
Ruddy hell
The old footballing cliché of a player coming back to haunt his former club reared its head at Everton as John Ruddy, now playing at Norwich, appeared on a one-man mission to frustrate his previous employers. He failed in the end, with Everton managing a 1-1 draw - but the baton passed over successfully to Steven Reid, whose last-minute block from David Goodwillie stopped his former club Blackburn earning a draw with West Brom.
