No Chelsea contact over Rodwell - Moyes

David Moyes has played down speculation linking Chelsea with a £20 million bid for Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell.

It has been reported Chelsea are interested in Rodwell, 20, and could make an offer for the England international when the transfer window reopens in January.

Moyes has cooled those rumours, insisting Chelsea have not made an approach for Rodwell, who has also been linked with Manchester United.

"I have had no offers, no contact from Chelsea - there would not be any other words I could add to that," Moyes said. "There is nothing from me. We've had no phone call."

Rodwell has made ten Premier League appearances for Everton this season, scoring twice, while in November he earned his first England caps against Spain and Sweden.
