Modric to Chelsea is dead - Redknapp

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp claims any move from Chelsea for Luka Modric is dead, but his Blues counterpart Andre Villas-Boas has once again spoken of his admiration for the Croatia midfielder.
Spurs emerged from a summer of fervent speculation with their star man still on their books and the efforts in snubbing offers from Chelsea have paid dividends, as Modric has played a key role in keeping the team in the title hunt.
Modric will come up against Chelsea on Thursday and he is clearly still on Villas-Boas' radar, but no bid would appear to be in the pipeline.
"In the future, I don't know about Modric," Villas-Boas said. "We're not looking at it at the moment. He's an extremely creative player, one of the greatest talents in the world, a player who will have tremendous success."
Redknapp, though, is unequivocal on the subject, insisting the midfielder will remain at White Hart Lane.
"I don't expect Luka to want to go anywhere," Redknapp said. "I think the Chelsea deal is dead.
"He's happy here. I don't know where he's at with his contract talks with the chairman but I'm sure they'll get something done.
"I don't see there being a problem with Luka. No matter what Chelsea offer, he isn't going. Not a chance."
