Kenny Dalglish has revealed Luis Suarez was "emotional" and "grateful" for the support he has received from his Liverpool team-mates in light of the guilty verdict from the Football Association in relation to the race row with Patrice Evra.

Uruguay striker Suarez was hit with an eight-match ban and fined £40,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United defender Evra.

The verdict prompted an angry response from Liverpool, while prior to the club's following game against Wigan the entire squad, and Dalglish, warmed up for the match wearing Suarez T-shirts.

The wearing of the Suarez T-shirts led to criticism, but Dalglish was unrepentant and claimed his forward was moved by the show of support from his team-mates.

"He was quite emotional and very grateful," Dalglish said. "It is never a disappointment when your team-mates and the people you work for give you their undivided support. And for me that is the least he deserves.

"The club has issued a statement, the players have made their statement both visually and verbally. It is best to wait and see."

Dalglish has insisted Liverpool have had their say and will wait for the report before passing further comment.

He said: "Until everybody gets it and we know the reasons behind the things, I think everybody should wait until the judgement and take it from there."
