Kanchelskis lays into money-grabbing Arshavin

Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has accused Arsenal's Andrei Arshavin of being more concerned with "money matters" than performances on the pitch.
Kanchelskis - who became a fan favourite in Britain after spells with United, Everton and Rangers - is disappointed with the attitude shown by Arshavin, who has failed to perform at a consistent level for the Gunners in recent seasons.
He believes the current Russia international - along with compatriots Roman Pavlyuchenko (Tottenham) and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (Everton) - are wasting opportunities to become key players for their respective sides because they only care about how much they are being paid.
Kanchelskis believes it is only a matter of time before all three return to their homeland.
"These days all the players are thinking of is money matters. And I see it as one of their major problems," Kanchelskis said, according to The Mirror. "All the three Russians in the Premier League had times when they played great football. But such periods proved to be too short.
"If only our guys could show more stability, each of them could be leaders of their teams. Unfortunately, that is not happening. And it is likely that they will have to move back to Russia soon."
