Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has moved swiftly to end speculation which has suggested he is seeking a loan switch away from the Emirates Stadium.

The 18-year-old winger joined Arsene Wenger's side from Southampton last August but has made just one Premier League appearance this season, as a substitute, with his first team opportunities limited to a handful of Cup and European outings.

With the January transfer window now open, Wednesday morning newspaper rumours implied that Oxlade-Chamberlain was on the lookout for a short-term deal elsewhere, but the player himself opted to respond via Twitter.

"Just to confirm, any rumours about me wanting to leave are completely false, couldn't be happier at Arsenal," he wrote on the social networking site.

Boss Wenger was recently prompted into saying he would be looking to give Oxlade-Chamberlain more chances to impress in 2012, as the former Saints player aims to further his Premier League experience.
