Coyle keen on former Arsenal target Ream

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has admitted an interest in American defender Tim Ream - after revealing that Arsenal were sufficiently impressed by the defender to try and sign him in the summer.
Ream has spent the past few weeks training with the West Brom squad, as he prepares for the new MLS season with New York Red Bulls. Coyle had previously expressed an interest in bringing the 24-year-old to the club, and admits he is considering whether to try and resurrect a move with his parent club in the January transfer window.
With Gary Cahill's future set to be resolved over the next few days, Coyle admits he wants to add two or three players to the squad - but dismissed some of the names that have been bandied about in the press.
"You could reel off 30 or 40 names that we have been linked with. That is the nature of the transfer window," Coyle said. "Tim Ream is a player we had in. He has been at West Brom. They were very keen on him as well and Arsenal tried to sign him in the summer.
"He is an outstanding young player. A US international, 24, and no doubt destined for a very bright future. Whether anything transpires with Bolton time will tell."
