Chelsea confirm offer for QPR target Alex

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed the Blues have received a bid from a Premier League club, believed to be Queens Park Rangers, for Alex.
Alex has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with Villas-Boas happy for him to move on in January.
He has been linked with a host of teams, big-spending Paris Saint Germain among them, and it was claimed on Wednesday that the R's had lodged a bid.
New QPR boss Mark Hughes did little to dampen the speculation at his opening press conference and Villas-Boas has added fuel to the fire by confirming an offer has been tabled.
"From my chief executive I know there has been an approach from a Premier League club," Villas-Boas said. "There is ongoing talks.
"The market is open for him. We are trying to get the proposal that is good for the player."
