Mark Hughes has confirmed his intention to add players to Queens Park Rangers' push to avoid relegation, but has ruled out a January bid for Carlos Tevez.

Tevez seems certain to leave Manchester City during the January transfer window following a souring of relations with the club's hierarchy, but a solution has not yet been found.

Hughes took charge at QPR last week and they were immediately linked with Tevez, given the player and Hughes are represented by Kia Joorabchian.

R's owner Tony Fernandes suggested Tevez was beyond them and Hughes has echoed that sentiment.

"We will pursue opportunities we think will help us, but it is not an exact science and it is difficult to say we will definitely bring players in," Hughes told Sky Sports News.

And in response to a question on whether they could sign Tevez, Hughes said: "Not in this window, absolutely not. Ideally I would love the chance to work with Carlos again but it is not going to happen any time soon."
